In this episode, I meet with Lee Adams (@manonamission2018) in London. Lee is a father of one and a passionate supporter of the charity CALM, which is of course the charity Man Talk is produced in support of. I first came across Lee when I heard him on BBC radio talking about men's mental health, and a couple of months later, here we are discussing his own battles, which included a stay in a psychiatric unit, and how he combines his passion for football with raising awareness for CALM. As you'll hear, Lee's incredible desire to help men who are struggling is infectious and I’m certain he’s going to play a major part in helping more men who are struggling in silence, speak up...
Man Talk, is my podcast that's helping to tackle men’s mental health and normalise the conversation.
I've battled with mental health issues for most of my adult life, but I'm now in a position where I feel strong enough to use my experiences to create a platform where men can talk openly about how mental health has effected them. Each episode sees me, chat to a range of guests who have experienced depression, anxiety, suicidal episodes, grief, PND and much more. Episodes are recorded on location, in the guests’ homes, the park, or in a local pub, thus setting the tone for a show that enables them to open up and help remove the stigmas and taboos that are associated with men’s mental health.
The show is produced in support of the charity, CALM (the Campaign Against Living Miserably).
Man Talk is available on iTunes and most of the regular platforms. Please subscribe to ensure you don’t miss an episode.
